Start with actual consumption
Use recent purchase history or maintenance records to estimate monthly and annual volume by product. Separate routine consumption from one-time fills and seasonal peaks. The most economical package on a per-gallon basis can still create waste if the product moves slowly or the site cannot store and dispense it correctly.
Cases and pails support controlled use
Cases and pails can work well for lower-volume products, mobile service, top-off needs or facilities with limited bulk handling equipment. They are easier to distribute across service points, but they create more containers and handling events per gallon than larger packages.
Drums and totes require infrastructure
Drums and totes can reduce unit handling for high-consumption products, but they require suitable storage, spill controls, labeling and dispensing equipment. Verify available space, delivery access and turnover before moving to a larger format. Package availability varies by product and supplier.
Give sales the details that affect delivery
